Funny Valentine’s Day Poems Help Romance During Tough Economy

Our big economic downturn does not necessarily mean the end of romance. If you and your special someone share a loving sense of humor, you might consider writing a funny Valentine’s Day poem. Yes, it may sound daunting, but you won’t know if you can do it unless you try. The good news is that trying is absolutely free. All you need is pen and paper. It doesn’t get more affordable than that! But it can get easier…

The Internet is a treasure trove of free poetry in general, and free funny Valentine poetry in particular. There are many sites that give you permission to copy and gift a poem – so long as it is for one-time personal use, and not something you plan to re-use for commercial profit.

Picture it. You take your special someone out for a simple, reasonably priced dinner and present her or him with a handwritten Valentine poem. Use a special sheet of paper, scent it with your favorite perfume or cologne, add a few loving words of your own, and it just might be a gift that will be kept forever. It doesn’t get better than that!

Valentine’s Day lands on Saturday this year, making it the perfect day for romance. Plan to spend a long, leisurely day with your Valentine, perhaps in front of the fireplace. Other ways to surprise your special someone with an upbeat and loving, funny Valentine’s Day poem is to present it with a box of home made cookies, or perhaps with an inexpensive, yet thoughtful gift. You might also choose to leave your Valentine poem on the bathroom counter or with a few chocolates on a bed pillow. (Nice touch!)

It doesn’t take a lot of money to be romantic during these tough economic times. Put on your surfing shoes and get on the web and find a free funny Valentine poem that says exactly what you’d like to say to your sweetheart. Be creative in the way you give your special someone that Valentine poem, and you are certain to have a romantic Valentine’s Day this year!
